the golden rule
the golden rule is our #1 rule. don't be an asshole. this is a pride community which means you should be inclusive and accepting of all members. ignore anyone you might not get along with and make a purposeful effort to be kind. don't bring a bad attitude! rp is not that serious and there is no way everyone, including the mods, can make it exactly how you think it should be.

setting up & joining
journals can be in character or out of character with no underscores, unnecessary numbers or additional letters. you need to have a f/o post up that is locked to the community or you must have your comment settings set to friends only. this combats anonymous bullying. the same goes for your ooc journal. your ooc entry should have your character's name, birthday, age, occupation, place of birth, etc. you do not need a biography or blurb or facts but they are highly encouraged. both entries need to be backdated.

introductions!
after you join you have 72 hours to intro and 48 to run the friends only button. your intros can be anything interactive that you'd like. something traditional, a survey, activity, etc.

being on the fp
if you have not commented a post on the fp for an entire week, you will be up for removals. communities do not survive when everyone has escaped to customs and neglect the fp.

updating
we'd love for this to be a community where people update more than once because they're inspired but we only require you to update once a month. your updates must be something substantial or at the very least, it should have some effort showing. narratives, moodboards, multi-media posts, etc.

community wide events & activities
this community will have active ongoing activities & community wide events. participation in every single one is not mandatory but we'd love to see you partake in something. we will offer a variety of activities including but not limited to: monthy update challenges, in character podcast interview spotlights, situational interaction buddies, plot posts, etc.

general activity
we aren't going to sugarcoat it: you need to be interested in the fp & treating the community like a community if you want to write here. please comment posts on the fp during the week, post/reply to posts in pbads when you can. we do not require you to drop off comment activity but if you are consistently not commenting the fp week after week, we will remove you. we are all adults so we understand that some weeks are busy and not feasible. we understand some people just can't manage to be as active as others - that is okay too. we just ask that you are welcoming and make an effort.

off-site apps
no wire/discord/hyperbeam, etc. journals only please. apps are not something every single person can use and it's not something every person wants to use. what is something everyone can use? something everyone is on insanejournal for? journals! we don't mind if you are already on discord and have people to chat or plot with ooc however anything ic or anything that impacts anyone ic has to be on insanejournal.

community goals & environment
we want to emphasize that our goal for buildings is to promote a community that isn't so hung up on dating, sex & romantic relationships. all wonderfully appealing but what we really want this community to be is a place where your characters are well rounded and value their friendship and family lines above all else. we don't want to dictate anyone reason's for rping or writing and there are many places to go to just focus on those things. we ask if you join us, those are a priority to you.

rejections, stances against bullies - anonymous or otherwise
we will not be accepting anyone with a history of any kind of ic or ooc abuse. be respectful, be understanding and don't be creepy. this is a collaborative hobby and you're too old to be bullying people here. our tolerance for any kind of harassment is zero. if you have an issue you can ask us to moderate or take action, do not take that into your own hands. anonymous bullies aren't welcome. we don't care who you have disliked in the past, you need to leave it at the door.
